What is Carbon Monoxide & why do we need protection from it?: Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless and tasteless poison gas that can be fatal when inhaled. CO is the product of incomplete combustion and can come from any fuel-burning appliance that is malfunctioning or improperly installed such as, a blocked chimney or flue, gas range grill or stove, fireplaces, etc.

NOTE: CO alarms are intended to supplement conventional smoke alarms, not replace them.  A CO alarm is not a smoke alarm and, therefore, will not satisfy legal requirements regarding the installation of smoke alarms in the home
