The toilet features an electric built in flushing mechanism and no external water tank. Pressing the button initiates a timer and a solenoid valve to fill and wash the bowl. The motor begins and macerates/pumps away waste and paper. After about 15 seconds the motor stops and the timer programs the fresh water refill. It is very water efficient, only using four litres of water for each flush
